Pussy Riot's Warning for Americans

Oh, the irony.

The New York Times ran a piece on Dec. 4th titled, "A Warning for Americans From a Member of Pussy Riot".  Pussy Riot, in case you don't know, was a really bad girl band in Russia whose leaders ended up in prison for twenty months after performing an anti-Putin political rant at a church in Russia and then resisting arrest.

A documentary film called "Pussy Riot, a Punk Prayer" was made about their journey including their formation, arrest, trial, and imprisonment.  The moral of the story:  Putin is a brutal dictator, Russia is not free, and Pussy Riot's treatment is a symbol for smug Westerners to look down their noses at barbaric Russia.

During the trial, which was ostensibly about trespassing and resisting arrest, the defendants were kept in cages like real life Hannibal Lecters and were not afforded anything like the rights the West is accustomed to.  The implication is that all this injustice was really just payback for anti-Putin political speech,  and it could happen here.

Now that Donald Trump has been elected President, The New York Times wants you to know that not only could it happen here, it likely will.

“It is a common phrase right now that ‘America has institutions,’” Ms. Tolokonnikova said. “It does. But a president has power to change institutions and a president moreover has power to change public perception of what is normal, which could lead to changing institutions.”
                                                                                      Pussy Riot leader, Nadya Tolokonnikova

There's only one problem with all this;  what happened to Pussy Riot in Russia has not only happened here in the U.S., but it's been widespread.  What's more, it happened under Barack Obama and the Democrats, not a Republican.

Here is a list of just some of the political filmmakers imprisoned, persecuted, and legally harassed by Barack Obama and the Democrats in recent years.  Like Pussy Riot, in many cases there were ostensible non-political bases for the arrests and harassment, but the reality is that these were all political payback in one form or another.

Nakoula Basseley Nakoula was put in prison for a year as punishment for making the YouTube video famously blamed by Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama for the deaths of four Americans in Benghazi, Libya.  As everyone knows though, the Benghazi attack had nothing to do with a YouTube video.   Even Hillary Clinton knew that because she emailed her daughter, Chelsea, that the attacks were al Qaeda-like terrorist operations and then followed-up with the Libyan President confirming the same.

Yet Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama needed a scapegoat to cover for their failure to provide the necessary security in Benghazi, to maintain the fiction that they had defeated terrorism, and to deceive the American people before an election.  So off to prison went Nakoula on an ostensible probation violation.

Dinesh D'Souza admitted he gave more money than was legally allowed to a college friend who was running for office.  He gave $20,000 while the legal limit for a couple was $5,400. More importantly though, he made a couple of anti-Obama films in 2012 and 2013.  As a result of the ostensible campaign finance violation, he was confined for eight months, put on five months probation, and forced to undergo psychological counseling.

Mr. D'Souza was the first person in the history of campaign finance law ever to be confined for an offense such as this.

Here's what liberal Harvard legal scholar Alan Dershowitz said about his conviction and sentence:
“The idea of charging him with a felony for this doesn’t sound like a proper exercise of prosecutorial discretion.... I can’t help but think that [D'Souza's] politics have something to do with it.... It smacks of selective prosecution.” He went on to say such alleged campaign violations are common in politics.
David Daleiden and Sandra Merritt were behind the Planned Parenthood undercover videos made by The Center for Medical Progress.  Barack Obama himself made a point to single them out.  As part of their cover they used fake IDs that somehow became a pretense for felony charges, a raid on Daleiden's home, and seizures of his property.
“To storm into a private citizen’s home with a search warrant is outrageously out of proportion for the type of crime alleged,” said Matt Heffron a former federal prosecutor who is now Daleiden’s legal adviser. “It’s a discredit to law enforcement, an oppressive abuse of government power.”
Recently all charges in Texas were dropped against Daleiden, but the damage was done.  His funding was depleted, CMP was sidelined, and the harassment was a success.  Charges in California have yet to be resolved.

Joel Gilbert made an anti-Obama film called "Dreams From My Real Father".  It drew the ire of Democrats on the Federal Election Commission (FEC) who voted unanimously to punish Mr. Gilbert.  When Republicans stood firm and pointed out that liberal filmmakers such as Michael Moore were not similarly harassed, the punishment was eventually blocked.  Were it not for the split FEC, Mr. Gilbert would have been sanctioned simply for making a movie critical of Barack Obama.

James O'Keefe, Joseph Basel, Robert Flanagan, and Stan Dai were part of James O'Keefe's undercover video organization, Project Veritas, the organization that single-handedly took down one of Obama's favorite community organizer (and voter fraud) activist groups, ACORN. They went on to investigate Democrat Senator Mary Landrieu and ran afoul of the FBI while trying to make a film about her. They eventually settled for misdemeanor charges and accepted probation, fines, and community service.

O'keefe has also been harassed by Obama's DHS for making films about the open Mexican border, and was just blocked by Twitter for releasing videos critical of Democrats and Hillary Clinton.

Logan Clements made a movie called "Sick and Sicker...", an unflattering portrayal of Obamacare. For his disloyalty he was handed his first ever IRS audit.

Breitbart News also earned their first IRS audit.   Breitbart is a multi-media internet megaphone that is foursquare opposed to Clinton and Obama's policies.  In this election cycle they are all-in with Donald Trump.  (Also, see David Bossie below who contributes occasionally to Breitbart.)

Glenn Beck, Pat Grey, and Scott Baker of The Blaze Network don't just make videos, they have an entire broadcast network, publish books, run a website, and do talk radio all of which oppose Clinton and Obama policies.  So yeah, these guys all got their first IRS audits .  But that's not all.  Glenn Beck's top sponsor, GoldLine, was targeted by Democrats, specifically congressman Anthony Weiner, husband of Hillary's right hand person Huma Abedin, and a known political hit-man for Democrats and Obama.  Weiner resigned his House seat in scandal, but his (ex?) wife would have played a major role in a Clinton administration.

David Bossie and James Bopp were behind the infamous Citizens United (CU) SCOTUS case. David Bossie runs CU and James Bopp was the lawyer who defended the first amendment. The case centered around CU's right to show an unflattering film portrait of Hillary Clinton. They won the case at the SCUTUS, but ran afoul of Obama and the entire Left who believe the first amendment only applies to Michael Moore and The New York Times. Hence, in front of the entire world during a state of the union address, Barack Obama publicly berated the justices who upheld the first amendment rights of filmmakers, thus sending a message to justices, filmmakers, and supporters of people who make films: oppose me and I will use the Bully Pulpit to bully you.

No list like this would be complete without mentioning Obama's number one target in the media and film world - Fox News.  Fox has been singled-out and harassed personally by Barack Obama on numerous occasions.  These attacks send a clear and chilling message to sponsors:  Advertise on Fox and you will be the target of restrictive regulations, IRS audits, and federal harassment.

Perhaps someone at The New York Times will write a story about all this someday,  but I won't hold my breath.

Democrat Fascism & Hollywood Hypocrisy

You would think people who make films would be staunch defenders of free speech.  You would be wrong.

Hollywood, and the arts community in general, support the Democrat party with near exclusivity. Yet, it is under Democrats that the heavy hand of government interferes most with the work of people exercising their right of free speech.  Richard Nixon may have contemplated using the IRS to go after his enemies, but he never did it, and could not have gotten away with it.  Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama not only do it, but no one holds them accountable - not the media, not the public, not Hollywood, and not academia.

Below is a list of filmmakers who have been jailed, persecuted, audited, and harassed under Democrat rule for political purposes, or simply for disagreeing.

Nakoula Basseley Nakoula was put in prison for a year as punishment for making the YouTube video famously blamed by Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama for the deaths of four Americans in Benghazi, Libya.  Hillary Clinton promised the grieving families of those killed that she would imprison Mr. Nakoula.  She did.  Not only do we have a first amendment right to free speech, and therefore should not be jailing filmmakers, but it turned out the Benghazi attack had nothing to do with a YouTube video.   And Hillary Clinton knew it.  Secretary Clinton emailed her daughter, Chelsea, that the attacks were al Qaeda-like terrorist operations.  Another email, to the Libyan President,  confirmed that this was her official understanding of the events in Benghazi.  Yet publicly, and even to the families of those who died, she blamed Mr. Nakoula.

This leads to only one conclusion: Hillary Clinton jailed a filmmaker for a year to cover for her failure to provide the necessary security in Benghazi, to add legitimacy to her lie about the attack being about a video, to maintain the fiction that she and Obama had defeated terrorism, and to deceive the American people before an election.

Dinesh D'Souza: Mr. D'Souza admitted he gave more money than was legally allowed to a college friend who was running for office.  He gave $20,000 while the legal limit was $5,400 for a couple. More importantly though, he made a couple of anti-Obama films in 2012 and 2013.  As a result of the ostensible campaign finance violation, he was confined for eight months, put on five months probation, and forced to undergo psychological counseling.

It smacks of selective prosecution.” He went on to say such alleged campaign violations are common in politics.
Dinesh D'Souza has a new film called "Hillary's America" that is doing quite well and may land him in jail again.

David Daleiden and Sandra Merritt:  These two were behind the Planned Parenthood undercover videos made by The Center for Medical Progress.

By some definitions, this is the very essence of fascism.  Perhaps someone in Hollywood should make a movie?  I won't hold my breath...

David Bossie - Living Dangerously

Donald Trump has done it now- he has hired David Bossie.  For those who don't know who David Bossie is, he is the anti-Christ, Voldemort, and the most dangerous man alive to Democrats - especially to Hillary Clinton.  David Bossie is the guy who won the SCOTUS case known as "Citizens United v.  FEC".

Citizens United was a case about a documentary called "Hillary, The Movie", critical of Hillary Clinton, which came out during the 2008 presidential race.  Democrats contended that showing the film was an illegal campaign contribution.  David Bossie claimed it was free speech protected by the first amendment.  He won.  Democrats have never forgiven him or the justices who ruled in his favor. That's why they "danced in the streets" at the death of Antonin Scalia. That's why Obama berated the Supreme Court justices seated in front of him during the State of the Union address in 2010.  And that's why one of the biggest applause lines at the recent DNC convention was about overturning Citizens United.

Now David Bossie is in charge of voter turnout for Donald Trump.  Say what you will about the seriousness of Trump's efforts to mount an organized campaign in the traditional sense, the inclusion of David Bossie is further evidence that Trump is playing to win.

Apparently, David Bossie likes to live dangerously.  Not only was he the winner of the Citizens United case, he is also one of the film-makers  targeted by the Democrats.  This targeted group includes film-makers who have been audited by the IRS,  had their sponsors harassed by the government, and some have even been imprisoned.

Here's a list of the film-makers targeted by the Democrats:

Nakoula Basseley Nakoula, an Egyptian born Christian who made a YouTube video critical of Mohammed, was the ultimate political prisoner.  He was the scapegoat blamed by Obama and Clinton for the deaths of four Americans in Benghazi, so they put him in prison for a year on dubious tangential charges.  Nakoula's imprisonment was orchestrated to distract from the failure of Obama and Clinton to protect and defend their people in Libya, and to divert attention from the increasing risk of Islamic terrorism which they claimed to have defeated.  The diversion worked, and they got reelected.

Joel Gilbert:  Mr. Gilbert made an anti-Obama film called "Dreams From My Real Father".  It drew the ire of Democrats on the Federal Election Commission (FEC) who voted unanimously to punish Mr. Gilbert.  When Republicans pointed out that liberal filmmakers like Michael Moore were not similarly harassed, the punishment was eventually blocked. Were it not for the split FEC, Mr. Gilbert would have been sanctioned for making a movie critical of Barack Obama.

Dinesh D'Souza: Mr. D'Souza admitted giving more money than was allowed by federal law to a college friend who was running for office.  More importantly though, he made a couple of anti-Obama films in 2012 and 2013.  As a result of the ostensible campaign finance violation, he was confined for eight months, put on five months probation, and forced to undergo psychological counseling.   Here's what liberal Harvard legal scholar Alan Dershowitz said about his conviction and sentence:

It smacks of selective prosecution.” He went on to say such alleged campaign violations are common in politics.
Dinesh D'Souza has a new successful film currently in theaters called "Hillary's America".  My advice to Dinesh -  pack your bags for another stint...)

David Daleiden and Sandra Merritt:  These two were behind the Planned Parenthood undercover videos made by The Center for Medical Progress.  Barack Obama himself made a point to single them out.  As part of their cover they used fake IDs that somehow became a pretense for felony charges, a raid on Daleidon's home, and seizures of his property.
As of August 6th, 2016, all charges in Texas were been dropped against Daleiden.  But the damage is done, he was sidelined for the primaries, and his funding is gone.  The harassment succeeded.)

James O'Keefe, Joseph Basel, Robert Flanagan, and Stan Dai: These people were part of James O'Keefe's undercover video organization, Project Veritas, the organization that single-handedly took down one of Obama's favorite community organizer activist groups, ACORN. They went on to investigate Democrat Senator Mary Landrieu and ran afoul of the FBI while trying to make a film about her. Logan Clements: Mr. Clements made a movie called "Sick and Sicker...", an unflattering portrayal of Obamacare.  For his disloyalty he was handed his first ever IRS audit.

Breitbart News:  Breitbart News also earned their first IRS audit.   Breitbart is a multi-media internet megaphone that is foursquare opposed to Obama's policies.  (Also, see David Bossie below who contributes occasionally to Breitbart.)

Glenn Beck, Pat Grey, and Scott Baker:  Glenn Beck and his Blaze Network don't just make videos, they have an entire broadcast network, publish books, run a website, and do talk radio,  all of which opposes Barack Obama's policies.  So yeah, these guys all got their first IRS audits .  But that's not all.  Glenn Beck's top sponsor, GoldLine, was targeted by Democrats, specifically congressman Anthony Weiner, still the husband of Hillary's right hand person Huma Abedin, and a known political hit-man for Democrats and Obama.  Weiner resigned his House seat in scandal, but his recently separated wife will play a major role in a possible Clinton administration.

David Bossie and James Bopp:  These men were behind the aforementioned Citizens United SCOTUS case. David Bossie runs CU and James Bopp was the lawyer who defended the first amendment. The case centered around CU's right to make and show a film, in this case an unflattering portrait of Hillary Clinton. They won the case at the SCUTUS, but ran afoul of Obama and the entire Left who believe the first amendment only applies to Michael Moore and The New York Times. Fox News - No list like this would be complete without mentioning Obama's number one target in the media and film world - Fox News.  Fox has been singled-out and harassed personally by Barack Obama on numerous occasions.  These attacks send a clear and chilling message to sponsors: Advertise on Fox and you will be the target of restrictive regulations, IRS audits, and federal harassment.   Interestingly, Fox just broke a record high for viewer ratings and its founder Roger Ailes has been forced to resign after a sexual harassment lawsuit was filed against him.

Are Democrats Targeting Filmmakers?

(UPDATED 8/6 to include the death of videomaker Shawn Lucas.)

If you watched day #1 of the DNC convention, you would know that enemy #1 for the Democrats, tied even with Donald Trump, is a SCOTUS decision known as "Citizens United".   This was a legal dispute that centered around a film about Hillary Clinton which Democrats tried to suppress using the McCain-Feingold campaign finance restrictions.  Democrats lost the case opening the floodgates for filmmakers to make movies and, gasp, show them to the public.  By the anger and vitriol aimed at this case one would think the SCOTUS was selling baby parts or something!

Here is a list of other filmmakers the Democrats hate so much they have sent some to prison, had some audited by the IRS, and have used just about every tentacle of government to try to bully them into submission:

Nakoula Basseley Nakoula, an Egyptian born Christian who made a YouTube video critical of Mohammed, was the ultimate political prisoner.  He was the scapegoat blamed by Obama and Clinton for the deaths of four Americans in Benghazi, so they put him in prison for a year on dubious tangential charges.  Even Vladimir Putin was incredulous.  Nakoula's imprisonment was orchestrated to distract from the failure of Obama and Clinton to protect and defend their people in Libya, and to divert attention from the increasing risk of Islamic terrorism which they claimed to have defeated.  The diversion worked, of course, and they got reelected.

“The idea of charging him with a felony for this doesn’t sound like a proper exercise of prosecutorial discretion.... I can’t help but think that [D'Souza's] politics have something to do with it.... It smacks of selective prosecution.” He went on to say such alleged campaign violations are common in politics.
(Uptdate:  Dinesh D'Souza has a new film currently in theaters called "Hillary's America",  which is doing quite well.  My advice to Dinesh?  Pack your bags for another stint...)

(Update: Breaking news!  As of today, all charges in Texas have been dropped against Daleiden.  But the damage is done, his funding dried up, he was sidelined for the primaries, and the harassment succeeded.)

They eventually settled for misdemeanor charges and accepted probation, fines, and community service.  O'keefe has also been harassed by Obama's DHS for making films about the open Mexican border.

Logan Clements: Mr. Clements made a movie called "Sick and Sicker...", an unflattering portrayal of Obamacare.  For his disloyalty he was handed his first ever IRS audit.  Coincidence?  Perhaps.

Breitbart News:  This could be another amazing coincidence, but Breitbart News also earned their first IRS audit.   Breitbart is a multi-media internet megaphone that is foursquare opposed to Obama's policies.  (Also, see David Bossie below who contributes occasionally to Breitbart.)

Glenn Beck, Pat Grey, and Scott Baker:  Another amazing coincidence?  Glenn Beck and his Blaze Network don't just make videos,  they have an entire broadcast network, publish books, run a website, and do talk radio,  all of which opposes Barack Obama's policies. Weiner resigned his House seat in scandal, but his wife will play a major role in a possible Clinton administration.

Hence, in front of the entire world, during a state of the union address, Barack Obama publicly berated the justices who upheld the first amendment rights of filmmakers, thus sending a message to justices, filmmakers, and supporters of people who make films: oppose me and I will use the Bully Pulpit to bully you.

(Update: Fox just broke a record high for viewer ratings, and its founder Roger Ailes has been forced to resign after a sexual harassment lawsuit was filed against him.)

Are Democrats targeting certain filmmakers, or are these all just coincidences?  You decide...

UPDATE:
Shawn Lucas, who made a viral video about serving a lawsuit against the DNC's Debbie Wasserman Schultz and Hillary Clinton, was found dead on August 2nd.   It is too early to know how or why he died.

Shawn Lucas is the third fourth mysterious death surrounding the DNC and the Clintons in four months. See here.

Barack [REDACTED] Obama's Filmmaker Enemies List

The House Benghazi report was released today, and it proves among other things that blaming the attack on a film was an Obama and Clinton lie.  To help legitimize the lie they went so far as to arrest the filmmaker, convict him on dubious tangential charges, and jail him for a year.

Nakoula Baselley Nakoula, an Egyptian born Christian, was the ultimate political prisoner.    He was imprisoned to distract from the failure of Obama and Clinton to protect and defend their people in Libya, and to divert attention from the increasing risk of Islamic terrorism which they claimed to have defeated.   The diversion worked and they got reelected.

But Baselley is just one of many filmmakers harassed by Barack [REDACTED] Obama and his surrogates.  Here is a list of some of the others:

Joel Gilbert, Dinesh D'Souza, David Daleiden, Sandra Merritt, James O'Keefe, Joseph Basel, Robert Flanagan, Stan Dai, Logan Clements, Breitbart News, Glenn Beck, Pat Gray, Scott Baker, David Bossie, James Bopp, and Fox News.

Remember those are just the filmmakers.  Others who write books, blogs, screenplays, articles, do comedy, make music, do talkshows, or run businesses have also been audited by the IRS, raided by various government agencies, or targeted by leftist surrogates under the Obama regime.

Here are the basic details of the harassed filmmakers listed above:

Joel Gilbert:  Mr. Gilbert made an anti-Obama film called "Dreams From My Real Father".  It drew the ire of Democrats on the Federal Election Commission (FEC) who voted unanimously to punish Mr. Gilbert.  When Republicans pointed out that liberal filmmakers like Michael Moore were not similarly harassed by GOP FEC members, the move was eventually blocked. Were it not for the split FEC, Mr. Gilbert would have been punished for making a movie critical of Obama.

Dinesh D'Souza: Mr. D'Souza admitted giving more money than was allowed by federal law to a friend who was running for office.  More importantly though, he made a couple of anti-Obama films in 2012 and 2013.  As a result of the ostensible campaign finance violation he was confined for eight months, put on five months probation, and forced to undergo psychological counseling.
David Daleiden and Sandra Merritt:  These two were behind the Planned Parenthood undercover videos made by The Center for Medical Progress.  Barack [REDACTED] Obama himself made a point to single them out.  As part of their cover they used fake IDs, and that somehow became a pretense for felony charges, a raid on Daleidon's home, and seizures of his property.
James O'Keefe, Joseph Basel, Robert Flanagan, and Stan Dai: These people were part of James O'Keefe's undercover video organization, Project Veritas, the organization that single-handedly took down one of Obama's favorite community organizer activist groups, ACORN. They went on to investigate Democrat Senator Mary Landrieu and ran afoul of the FBI while trying make a film about her ignoring her constituents during the Obamacare run-up. They eventually settled for misdemeanor charges and accepted probation, fines, and community service.  O'keefe has also been harassed by Obama's DHS for making a movie about the open southern border.

Logan Clements: Mr. Clements made a movie called "Sick and Sicker...", an unflattering portrayal of Obamacare.  For his disloyalty he was handed his first ever IRS audit.  Coincidence?  You judge.

Breitbart News:  OK, this could also be coincidence, but Breitbart News is a multi-media powerhouse that is foursquare opposed to Obama's policies.   They also coincidently earned their first IRS audit.  (Also, see David Bossie below who writes for Breitbart.)

Glenn Beck, Pat Grey, and Scott Baker: Ditto above.  Glenn Beck and his Blaze Network don't just make videos.  They have an entire broadcast network, publish books, run a website, and do talk radio. All of it opposes Barack [REDACTED] Obama's policies.  So yeah, these guys all got their first audits by the IRS.  But that's not all.  Beck's top sponsor was targeted by Democrats and specifically by congressman Anthony Weiner, husband of Hillary's right hand person, Huma Abedin, and a known political hit-man for Democrats and Obama.  Weiner resigned his House seat in scandal, but his wife will play a major role in a possible Clinton administration.

David Bossie and James Bopp:  These men were behind the famous Citizens United SCOTUS case. David Bossie runs CU and James Bopp was the lawyer who defended the first amendment. The case centered around their right to make a film, in this case an unflattering portrait of Hillary Clinton. They won the case at the SCUTUS but ran afoul of Obama and the entire left who believe the first amendment only applies to Michael Moore and The New York Times. Hence, in front of the entire world, during a state of the union address, Barack [REDACTED] Obama publicly berated the justices who upheld the first amendment rights of filmmakers, thus sending a message to justices, filmmakers, and supporters of people who make films: oppose me and I will use the Bully Pulpit to bully you.

No list like this would be complete without mentioning Obama's number one target in the media and film world - Fox News.  Fox has been singled-out and harassed personally by Barack [REDACTED] Obama on numerous occasions.  These attacks sent a clear and chilling message to sponsors.  Ask yourself this: would you advertise on Fox News if you knew restrictive regulations, IRS audits, and federal harassment were disproportionately doled out to Obama's enemies?   Ironically, Fox just broke a record high for viewer ratings.

Are all these just coincidences?  You decide.

UPDATE:  If the subject of Obama's enemies lists interests you, read this piece by Mark Hyman in the American Spectator, Obama's Enemies List, written one month after he took office.  And this follow up, Obama's Enemies List Grows.  Oh, and this one too, Obama's Real Enemies List.

Brian Williams vs. Faux News

The left loves to call Fox News, "Faux News", which is pretty ironic in light of NBC's embarrassing cover-up and promotion of serial liar Brian Williams, who  is not only their flagship anchor, but also the Managing Editor of NBC Nightly News!  Imagine if anything like that ever came out about a Fox News managing editor?  However,  it's not just the rank and file that mock Fox News, it starts with president Obama himself.  Why would a sitting president cross the traditional line by repeatedly singling out a private sector media company and setting a tone of derision and de-legitimacy?  Here are some hints:
5.  “Ridicule is man’s most potent weapon.” There is no defense. It’s irrational. It’s infuriating. It also works as a key pressure point to force the enemy into concessions.
6.  “A good tactic is one your people enjoy.” They’ll keep doing it without urging and come back to do more. They’re doing their thing, and will even suggest better ones.
12.  “Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it.”

Why does Obama hate Fox News so much?

Yesterday Obama again singled out public enemy number one in a speech at Northwestern University.  No, not ISIS, terrorists, jihadists, Ebola, Putin, or the IRS abusing its power.  No, Obama singled out Fox News, of course, in front of a student audience.  In a country with a private media, a constitutional right to free speech, and a recent history of having government agencies persecute the president’s political foes, how can anyone let alone an auditorium full of young scholars tolerate that kind of abuse of power from the chief executive?  Not only did they tolerate it they applauded.

When I was growing up I always heard about totalitarian dictatorships and how they controlled their populations by controlling the media.  The Soviets were particularly known for this.  They had complete control of the media and could pretty much manipulate their people to believe whatever they wanted.  When I say media I’m not just referring to newspapers and TV news.  I’m referring to all sources of information in a society:  news, entertainment, and academia.

Which brings us to Barack Obama.  You probably don’t think of Barack Obama as a dictator.  He was democratically elected to be the president of a constitutional republic after all, so he cannot be a totalitarian dictator.   But consider this:  there are two ways a country can end up with a dictator -  a leader or faction can seize totalitarian power by force, or the people can grant totalitarian power to an individual or faction.  For all intents and purposes Barack Obama has been granted totalitarian dictatorial powers by the latter route.  In fact he is arguably the most powerful dictator the world has ever known.

Think about it.  Barack Obama is commander-in-chief of the worlds most powerful military, and is uniquely able to wage war without congressional votes or opposition from pacifists.  He has carte blanche to selectively enforce laws,  has carte blanche to write laws, dissolves borders unilaterally, creates treaties unilaterally,  has weaponized every tentacle of the federal government to persecute his enemies,  is politically untouchable and unimpeachable,  lies to the country with impunity, his deputies have been found in contempt of congress without repercussion, his policies have failed without repercussion.  And…he has been granted almost complete control of the media, with one BIG exception.

That one exception is Fox News.  News Corporation and it’s flagship Fox News is the only large media institution standing in the way of Barack Obama’s complete editorial control of major media in the USA.  While there are significant opposition voices on the internet (this blog being but a miniscule one), all of them combined pale in comparison to the reach of ratings leader Fox News.  In Barack Obama’s world the constitutional protections of free speech, a long history of tolerance, respect for private industry, and a disdain for political interference all become subordinate to the Saul Alinsky tactical imperative of winning at any cost.  Rule-of-law, the constitution, and tradition be damned, there’s a revolution to be won, wealth to be redistributed, and a nation to be fundamentally transformed!

Therefore Fox News must be stopped.  In accordance with the Saul Alinsky playbook Fox News must be mocked, ridiculed, disparaged, singled-out, personalized, and vilified.  Much like the Koch brothers who rank near #40 in political contributions but are enemy #1 in the Democrat pantheon of Alinsky targets, Fox News must be pounded and vilified non-stop.  And the useful idiots at Northwestern laughed and applauded.

Barack Obama is arguably the most powerful dictator the world has ever known – power willingly granted by the populace and popular media.  All that stands between him and complete totalitarian control, at least in his mind, is Fox News.

Clearinghouse

When Bill Clinton strayed too far from the principles on which our country was founded or acted like an ass, criminal, or dunce, he had a compliant pop-media to cover for him with few exceptions.  Chief among the dissenters was Rush Limbaugh who fulminated for 3 hours every day on national syndicated radio to millions of listeners.  I'm sure Limbaugh was a thorn in Clinton's side, but he was not as effective as he could have been due to his sometimes offensive style.  Even when I agree with Rush, I have a hard time getting past the pointless self promotion, unnecessary bravado, and dark moods.  I'm sure this acts as an impediment to "closing the sale" with fence-sitters.

I won't even elaborate on Bush 43's situation since he had no compliant pop-media and critics in every corner on the right.  (See: Steel tarrifs, NCLB, Medicare Part D, Immigration, Meyers, Patriot Act, etc. and that doesn't even get to the war issues!)

Now we get to President Obama who is by all appearances leading a vigorous Marxist Coup in Washington in broad daylight with the willing consent of the pop-media, his own ruling party, the powerless Republicans, and a good chunk of the American Sheep Herd.  Standing in his way is talk radio including the aforementioned Rush Limbaugh, an enlivened Fox News, and the Wild Wild Net.  One Fox commentator, Glenn Beck,  has stood above the rest and acted like a clearinghouse for all the pieces of the puzzle which together prove the case that we are living through a Marxist Coup the likes of which have never been seen before in America.  And he's doing it artfully, humbly, sincerely, emotionally, and with a methodical approach which builds the case brick by brick, night after night.  Moreover, he is building a cadre of feeder sources from the Net and others which provide him the leads which comprise his wall of evidence.  He's become the most powerful, articulate, entertaining, and effective spokesman and clearinghouse for exposing this Marxist Coup.  No wonder Obama is lashing out like a cornered bully.

In retrospect, Bill Clinton had it soooo much easier...

First They Came For...

First they came for the capitalists, and I did not speak out—because I was not a capitalist;

Then they came for the conservatives, and I did not speak out—because I was not conservative;

Then they came for the critics, and I did not speak out—because I was not a critic;

Then they came for Fox News, and I did not speak out—because I watched MSNBC;

Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak out for me.
