Fact Check: Is Political Violence a "Both Sides" Problem?

Have you heard Democrats say things like, "Both sides need to turn down the rhetoric!" and, "The violence is on both sides!"  Well, that's not even remotely true.  And if you think I'm cherry picking just the last 10 years, I researched every Presidential assassination and the results are HERE.

  1. Thank you for putting this together. Do you know if anyone has done the same kind of analysis for all of the other politically-motivated killings in the last few years (I'd say couple of decades, but that would really make it a big job!)? I'm talking about school shootings, cars ramming into crowds, and so on.

  2. Well, some of those were political and some were not. The only purported case of GOP ideological political violence was obviously Jan6 and that depends entirely on ones interpretation. FBI's Chris Wray lied to congress about his agents being undercover, DEMS lied about an "insurrection", they lied about the motivation for the protest, they lied about Trump's role, they lied about the pipe bomber, they lied about the cause of death of officer Sicknick, they lied about the crowd being armed, they lied about the timeline, they lied about the roles of agitators like Ray Epps, scaffold man, and others, they blocked the release of exculpatory footage, they lied about the gallows and noose, and they purged the congressional committee of leadership's Republican nominees. You can draw whatever conclusions you like.
